After about 10 years of travelling and trawling through Spain, we decided that Southern Cataluña was the place for us to try and find ourselves a house. Before coming down for the summer, I had already found a number of properties of interest to us, and had made an appointment with MySpanishHome Estate Agency. At the meeting we quickly explained what we were interested in, what our priorities were etc. and Stephanie instantly understood what kind of properties could be relevant to us. After a few days we had a viewing, and we instantly loved the property. Already the following day we had an agreement with the owner, and paperwork was being done. After only three weeks the entire deal was finished, and the keys were handed over to us. The whole process was so smooth and easy for us and we felt very confident throughout. Well what can I say,my wife and I purchased a property through Myspanishome with the view to retiring in the Tortosa area.We both unfortunately don't speak Spanish(Yet) so this will make our retirement to start with trying. Last summer I came into your estate agents in Tortosa because my partner and I have an apartment there which needed a lot of work doing. We were desperate to find someone we could trust with the right connections to organise and oversee the work as we do not live in Spain. You kindly gave us the number of Linda Wilton and we got in contact immediately.

We are now pleased to report that the work has been carried out and the apartment looks amazing. We have two new bathrooms, a new kitchen and all windows and doors have been stripped, repaired and repainted. The walls have all been repainted, and the aspect we are most pleased with is the restoration of the original floor tiles, and the exposure and restoration of the original ceiling beams. It is a 5 bedroomed, 3 reception room apartment, and Linda's price was very reasonable and everything was done on time.

"We lost our first buyer at the last minute because of a problem with not having the necessary paperwork in place. Having already moved back to the UK we found ourselves in an extremely difficult and worrying position. Following this 'catastrophe' the best thing that happened was then dealing with Steve and Stephanie at 'Myspanishome' agents, they made the arrangements which eventually led to our getting the paperwork that was needed and advised us honestly and fairly regarding all aspects of selling our house. At last, we have our own internet, in our own house!!

Firstly a very very belated Happy New Year. Hope you both had a good Christmas and New year, although a few miles apart. We enjoyed both, New year especially, as a small burden had been lifted from our shoulders............

Our house purchase here went through smoothly on the 7th Jan and since then Ray has been busy trying to get things done so that we can move in. The water is done now and we have the electricity company coming on Thursday to change the meters so that we can upgrade our supply, then we can start rewiring the house, as long as the kitchen and the sitting room are done, we can do the rest as we go along. We've bought a log burner for the kitchen which will be fitted later this week. We have somone coming in this week to put the liner down the chimney, then as soon as that's done it'll be all systems go, heat in the kitchen, yeah!!!!!!

At the moment he's up in the loft putting more fibre glass up there. There is some old stuff already laid but the more, the better as it is sooooooo cold up here. Don't think the temperature has risen above 5C for weeks. Never mind, summers just around the corner.

We both want to say a very big thank you to you both for all the hard work you put in and the hassle you went through after we had left to get everything finalised, and a special "thank you" to Steve who managed brilliantly to finalise everything on the last day. We're just so glad we didn't know anything about it all until after the event. We do miss seeing you for our little chats and coffee but on the plus side for you, you won't be getting through as much coffee as you used to, although I expect you've got other punters who now come in regularly to harrass you.

Don't forget, if your ever travelling back to the UK and you need a stop off point you'll always be more than welcome at Chez Perrin, we'd love to see you.

Take care and we both send you lots of love and all good wishes for a prosperous and hassle free (ha ha) 2011.
